London Fog: The Coffee-Free Pick-Me-Up Your Morning Needs!
In the 1990s in Canada, a pregnant woman entered her local coffee shop. She needed a little pick-me-up but was watching her caffeine intake.
So she asked the barista to make her an earl grey tea with steamed milk and vanilla.
That’s the legend behind the London Fog, Canada’s famous earl grey tea latte. Over the years, it’s grown and expanded (with even Starbucks picking up on the trend and adding a London Fog to their menu in recent years!)
It’s easy to see why...the drink is a steamy, delicious blend of rich tea, sweet vanilla, and creamy milk. Tea that even coffee-lovers can appreciate!
But at Teamotions, we put our own little spin on it, making an iced London Fog that’s the perfect alternative to an iced coffee when you need a refreshing pick-me-up!
Why Our London Fog is Even Better
Along with being iced (and let’s face it, we can never have enough yummy iced tea drink options), our London Fog is made with Achieve Clarity, our vanilla earl grey with hints of lavender.
This adds extra complexity and flavor to the traditional drink, making it even more yummy!
To make your London Fog, you’ll want to prepare your iced Achieve Clarity in advance, using the cold brew method! Just add 1 rounded teaspoon of tea for every 1 cup of room temperature water, and place it in the refrigerator overnight.
The next morning, strain the leaves and you have iced earl grey ready to drink by itself or incorporate into our London Fog!
Our Iced London Fog Recipe

Ingredients:
- 2 cups iced Achieve Clarity tea
- 2 Tbsp lavender vanilla simple syrup* (recipe for our homemade syrup below!)
- 2 Tbsp half and half
- Ice
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together and enjoy!
The Homemade Simple Syrup
We created our own homemade lavender vanilla simple syrup to take our London Fog to the next level! (Alternatively, you could get vanilla and lavender coffee syrups to use.)
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- ½ teaspoon lavender
- 1 vanilla bean, split and seeds scraped
Directions:
Stir 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water over high heat until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat; add lavender and vanilla bean. Steep 15 minutes, strain into a jar.
(This keeps in the fridge for two weeks)
